Reminder: All players need to have team dues in by January 1st ($100.00)

We are asking all players to get a sponsor. $250.00 and up if at all possible.

We are having a coaching meeting Monday night and will have times and dates to get the ball rolling for the 2011 season.

We need to get our fund raising committee together and get the cash raffle set up for the 2011 season.

2011 Coaching meeting on Monday

The Roanoke Rampage football 2011 Coaching staff meeting will be Monday night at the union hall in Roanoke at 6pm. Please give me a call if you can or can not make it, This will be our time to set things up for the 2011 season and get things in order. We will also set up our dates for practice and our spring scrimmage and media day.

NYPD PUNTER KILLED

The Player’s and Coaches of the Roanoke Rampage Fire and Police football team extend their deepest condolences to the family and friends of Officer Freddy Barraza of the New York Police Department. The following is from the NYPD Finest Football Team:

It is with great sadness that the NYPD Finest Football Family informs you of the passing of PO Freddy Barazza as a result of injuries suffered in an off duty car accident on November 11, 2010.  Freddy was a member of the NYPD Football Family for the last three seasons and was our  punter and kicker.  For those of  you that competed against Freddy, he  surely left an impression with you with his trademark oversized mustache.

The Roanoke County Police Department needs our help. They have a police officer Adam Childress that is in a Battle with cancer and his Brother police officers are selling Gun Raffle tickets to raise money  to pay bills and help the family!!! #36 Kevin Slough sent me the following message. Hey, we are selling $10 gun raffle tickets for Adam Childress. The money will go to Adam for his expenses. He had 2 of the 6 brain tumors taken out last week and is doing well. Please call me if you would like to buy one. The drawing is November 18th and we still have like 200 left to sell.

2011 Season is set!

I am home from the 2011 Npsfl meeting in Tampa. I would like to thank the Tampa sentinels for hosting the meeting and for a  great lunch. It was great seeing everyone and catching up with all the guys and friends from the league. I have to say that it is a Honor to be a member of this league and being able to play football for charity. With this said, Some Roanoke Rampage football players will be happy and others not so! Every team in the league got hit this year with long travel games and so did we! Its time to Roll up our sleeves and get to work and not complain about it.

Today I fly out to Tampa to the 2011 NPSFL League meeting. Wish me luck as I try to set our Games up for the 2011 season. I have to be in meetings all day tomorrow to vote on Rule changes  and work on charity work for the league. I am looking forward to seeing all the teams in Tampa and the new friends that i have made from the league.

Just a reminder that the annual NPSFL Meeting will be held in Tampa, FL on Wednesday, November 3 and Thursday, November 4.  The meeting will run from 8 AM until 5 PM
